Sykes grants scholarships to 30 students

Business process outsourcing company Sykes Asia, Inc. said it has granted scholarships to 30 students under its Sykes Edge (Educational Grant for Employees’ Dependents) Scholarship Program. The scholars, who are dependents of Sykes employees, received PHP25,000 (US$493) in financial support, along with Sykes merchandise and school supplies.
The scholarship program is now in its third year, with 15 of this year’s scholars based in Cebu and 15 in Manila. According to Cecile May Venancio, branding and communications director at Sykes APAC, education is one of Sykes’ advocacies, and the company wants to pay back its employees’ loyalty by helping them reach their goals through Sykes Edge.
Venancio added that Sykes’ sustainability development model focuses on the contribution of its business towards the improvement of social well-being, resulting in social mobility and poverty reduction.
