Talkdesk expands AI offerings to healthcare industry

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Contact center company Talkdesk has expanded its artificial intelligence services to the healthcare industry with Talkdesk Autopilot for Healthcare.
The platform was developed to streamline hospital firms’ operations. It supports patients through the entire journey from admission, health delivery, discharge, and follow-up care. The platform can resolve common queries while an agent intervenes when necessary.
Talkdesk Autopilot for Healthcare also connects with electronic health records (EHRs) to resolve issues in the patient journey. Additionally, EHRs can be integrated into the Talkdesk Healthcare Experience Cloud for easier accessibility and enhanced security.
“Combining the power of GenAI with deep and sophisticated healthcare workflows makes Talkdesk Autopilot for Healthcare a landmark innovation that helps fully resolve, not just deflect, the needs of patients and caregivers throughout their journey,” said Tiago Paiva, chief executive officer and founder of Talkdesk.
He noted that the system would also lighten the workload of floor nurses, paving the way for better patient care.
“Talkdesk Autopilot for Healthcare has helped us automate common patient calls and chats, freeing our staff to focus on helping our patients and families with the most complex needs,” said eff Kaplan, vice president of Patient Access at Memorial Healthcare System.
Patty Hayward, vice president and general manager for healthcare and life sciences at Talkdesk, noted that AI will not necessarily rob humans of their livelihood.
Rather, AI and automation are there to take care of administrative tasks so the human staff can tend to urgent problems.
