Tech Mahindra to expand Cebu workforce to 1,500 in 2020

Business process outsourcing firm Tech Mahindra announced that it plans to increase its Cebu headcount to 1,500 next year. Anand Achuthan, country head at Tech Mahindra Philippines, said its fourth site in Cebu, which was launched at the Cebu IT Park just recently, will hire around 1,000 employees.
The company’s Cebu operations currently have 3,000 workers, with the workforce predicted to expand to 4,500 next year, said Achuthan. The executive said that the firm made investments to upskill its employees to maintain pace with the changing times, with workers keeping similar but more complex jobs.
Tech Mahindra has recorded double-digit growth globally, said Achuthan, who gave credit to the company’s Philippine units for their contributions to its global growth.
