Teleperformance dethrones Accenture in OA500 2025 global outsourcing rankings

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In a surprising shift within the outsourcing industry, Teleperformance has claimed the top spot in Outsource Accelerator’s latest global rankings, ending Accenture‘s two-year reign as the world’s top outsourcing company. This revelation comes from the third edition of the Global Outsourcing Firm Index and OA500 2025, which offers a window into the evolving landscape of global business services.
The extensive analysis, which sifted through data from more than 3,000 outsourcing firms worldwide, paints a picture of an industry in flux – adapting to technological shifts while maintaining impressive growth trajectories.
Industry revenue climbs despite market consolidation
The outsourcing sector isn’t just surviving – it’s thriving. OA500 companies collectively pulled in a staggering $660 billion in revenue, jumping 11.6% from last year and showing a robust 25% growth since 2023. What’s particularly telling is how the industry’s wealth is concentrating: just 77 major players now control over three-quarters of the entire market, with combined revenues hitting $531 billion.
Not all sectors are growing equally, though. Real estate outsourcing has exploded with a mind-boggling 1,039% revenue increase to $880 million, largely thanks to virtual property management becoming mainstream.
Meanwhile, financial services BPOs saw web traffic skyrocket by 5,718% as fintech adoption accelerated, and retail BPOs weren’t far behind with a 2,259% traffic surge – clear evidence of e-commerce’s growing influence.
Office footprints shrink as remote work sticks
Perhaps most telling is what’s happening to physical workspaces. The total number of office locations among OA500 firms has steadily declined – from 12,870 in 2023 to 11,493 in 2024, and now sitting at just 10,919. This isn’t a temporary blip but rather confirms that hybrid work models and AI-powered remote operations are here to stay.
“The changes we’ve observed this year underscore the resilience and dynamism of the outsourcing sector, especially in the era of AI,” says Derek Gallimore, CEO of Outsource Accelerator.
The geographic distribution of BPO headquarters remains telling, with American firms dominating the landscape – 273 OA500 companies call the U.S. home. India follows with 58 firms, the UK with 30, and the Philippines with 21, highlighting these nations’ outsized influence in everything from IT services to customer support.
“As we witness a broadened analysis scope and see firms like Teleperformance rise to the top, it’s clear that the outsourcing industry is not just adapting but actively shaping the future of global business practices. These shifts are pivotal as we continue to harness technology and innovation to drive growth and efficiency,” Gallimore added.
