Teleperformance employs 3,500 in standalone Jamaican delivery center

Teleperformance has opened a new delivery center in Jamaica’s Montego Bay Free Zone. The new unit has launched with 3,500 employees, with plans in place to recruit an additional 400 over the next few months. Furthermore, Scott Klien, a senior executive with the firm, has said a third phase would see an extra 450 added to the team. Expanding upon this, Tim Casy, the company’s accounts receivable solutions unit chief, said this year’s hiring was just the beginning, despite the fact that firm now employs more than double the number of people it did two years ago.
Paris-headquartered Teleperformance opened its first office in Jamaica in 2002, as it looked to focus on clients in the US and Canada and to develop its offering in the areas of sales acquisition, accounts receivable and back-office services. In 2014, it then took on responsibility for the call center operations of BookIt.com, the online travel firm. After expanding its employee base in the country, it then took the decision to launch its most recent operation.
