TP to open first Vietnam site by 2026

PARIS, FRANCE — TP (formerly Teleperformance) plans to open its first Vietnam site in Hanoi by the end of 2026, targeting artificial intelligence (AI) data services demand as newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Jorge Amar reshapes the world’s largest contact center operator from a headcount-first delivery model toward a hybrid human-and-AI workforce architecture.
Amar confirmed the Hanoi hub will serve both domestic and multinational clients with data services — a strategic category defined by AI labeling, content moderation, and model fine-tuning work that is growing separately from the traditional voice and text customer service business that defines TP’s historical delivery model.
Amar’s hybrid workforce strategy drives Vietnam entry and global AI rollout
According to a report from Nikkei Asia, TP’s Vietnam entry is anchored in AI data services rather than the voice and chat customer experience delivery that the company built its 490,000-plus-person operation around.
Amar, who joined TP in March 2026 after leading McKinsey & Company’s digital customer-care practice globally, is executing the ‘Future Forward’ plan to embed AI tools across every employee in the company’s half-million-strong workforce by early 2027.
The company projects 0% to 2% revenue growth for 2026 as worker reskilling and technology investment consume near-term earnings — a deliberate short-term cost that Amar has framed as repositioning rather than contraction.
TP’s Vietnam entry is the geographic expression of a broader strategic shift: AI data services demand is determining where to expand, and the workforce AI enablement program determines what employees in those new sites will deliver.
“We are moving into a world of hybrid workforce that is both human and agentic,” said Jorge Amar, Chief Executive Officer, TP.
Philippines operations, 60,000 employees strong, anchor TP’s Asia-Pacific delivery alongside Vietnam
TP’s 60,000-employee Philippine operation is one of the company’s largest single-country workforces — a scale that positions Vietnam as a complementary data-services delivery geography rather than a replacement for its Southeast Asia anchor.
Amar’s AI deployment timeline — all 500,000-plus employees using AI tools by early 2027 — covers the Philippine workforce as part of the same global transformation the Vietnam entry is designed to extend into a new market.
Vietnam’s Hanoi hub, targeting domestic and multinational AI data services clients, extends TP’s Asia-Pacific footprint into a market where technology company demand for data annotation, moderation, and model fine-tuning work is growing alongside the country’s broader digital economy.
At 0–2% revenue growth in 2026, TP is absorbing the transformation cost now — but the enterprise client relationships that come with 490,000 employees across 100-plus countries give the company a conversion advantage in AI data services that operators building from scratch cannot replicate.
“In an era of a hybrid workforce, the human headcount will be just one number,” Amar said.
For BPO operators and enterprise buyers tracking how the sector’s largest platform is responding to AI, TP’s Vietnam entry and workforce AI rollout mark what large-scale contact center transformation looks like in 2026: new geography anchored in AI data work, not voice; half a million employees in AI transition as demand scales; and a CEO appointment designed to accelerate the shift rather than manage existing delivery.
