TrueBlue appoints Taryn Owen as new CEO
WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES — Specialized workforce solutions provider TrueBlue announced the promotion of Taryn Owen to President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 12, 2023.
With 13 years at TrueBlue, Owen, will become President and CEO, joining the company’s Board of Directors. She replaces Steven Cooper, who will step down from his roles but continue as an advisor until year-end.
Owen has held the position of President and COO since September 2022. She has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth, pandemic response, digital transformation strategies, and international expansion. Owen has been repeatedly featured on the Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) Staffing 100 and Global Power 150 lists.
“Taryn is a proven leader with the right expertise, strategic vision and alignment with our mission and values to lead TrueBlue forward,” affirmed TrueBlue Chairman Jeffrey Sakaguchi. He further expressed gratitude towards Cooper, who had previously retired as TrueBlue CEO in 2018, for his “steadfast guidance and numerous contributions.”
Cooper’s tenure at TrueBlue, spanning 25 years, saw the company’s transformation from a general labor staffing business into a specialized workforce solutions provider. Cooper resumed the CEO role in June 2022 and is set to retire from the company after December 31, 2023.
Relatively, Paul Reitz, CEO of Titan International, has joined the TrueBlue Board of Directors effective August 11, 2023.
“Paul has an impressive track record of driving growth, operational efficiency and performance excellence. He will make an excellent addition to the board,” Sakaguchi noted.
In 2022, TrueBlue served 84,000 clients and connected approximately 611,000 people to work across various industries through its multiple segments, including PeopleReady, PeopleManagement, and PeopleScout.
