UK envoy encourages strong UK-PH FTA

There is strong potential for a free trade agreement in the future between the UK and the Philippines as the British government is looking into forging a trade deal with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a UK official said.
Richard Graham, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to the Philippines, said the country is an important trade partner for the UK and that trade relations between Manila and London are complementary. He added that the British government will be pursuing independent trade agreements around the globe as the UK transitions to leave the European Union by the end of the year.
It is also looking at deepening trade relationships with countries such as the Philippines and other ASEAN members.
