Uzbekistan spotlights booming IT outsourcing sector at upcoming forum

TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN — Uzbekistan will showcase the strengths of its rapidly growing information technology (IT) outsourcing industry at the 19th annual ICT Week forum in Tashkent from October 24-27.
The event brings together companies, thought leaders, and policymakers to explore the country’s opportunities in IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). It also promotes Uzbekistan as an attractive investment destination for the sector.
Over the past five years, Uzbekistan has seen exponential 82-fold growth in IT services exports, reaching $145 million in 2022. The country aims to grow these exports to $5 billion by 2030.
The ICT Week has been held annually for 19 years as a key platform for Uzbekistan’s IT sector growth. This year’s forum builds on July’s Digital Leadership Forum, which brought over 300 BPO companies to Tashkent.
IT Park Uzbekistan led the development, offering tax breaks and other benefits to help companies enter the market. Today, more than 1,400 firms, including major international names, have taken advantage of the incentives.
Forum participants will also explore Uzbekistan’s advantages, including its large, youthful, and educated population with nearly 100% literacy.
The country’s IT services market is projected to reach $1.3 billion in revenue in 2023, with business process outsourcing dominating the market.
