Virtusa inks deal with AWS to hasten AI-powered data migration

MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES — Information technology services firm Virtusa Corporation (Virtusa) has inked a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with cloud computing firm Amazon Web Services (AWS), to hasten data migration using the latest generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies.
With the aid of Virtusa, Amazon’s cloud computing arm can now accelerate customer data migration to the cloud through the integration of AI, GenAI, and machine learning (ML).
The collaboration aims to cut the migration and modernization processes from 36 to 18 months for its clients.
This revamp will allow AWS to expand and enhance its various tech solutions like Amazon Glue, Amazon CloudFormation, Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM), Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon CodeWhisperer.
In line with this agreement, Virtusa has opened four “The Generative AI & Data Labs” – centers that aim to beef up the potential of AI in various tech systems and their respective processes. The lab has physical facilities in New York, London, and Singapore, plus a virtual location.
The lab features experts who are there to guide clients through the entire migration process, as well as the creation of ML roadmaps.
“Our SCA with AWS marks a pivotal moment in Virtusa’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions for data migration and IT modernization,” said Ram Meenakshisundaram, Chief Technology Officer, Virtusa.
Virtusa, founded in 1996, went public in 2007 on the NASDAQ Global Market and went private after being acquired by Baring Private Equity Asia in 2021.
