Waive 14-day quarantine period for fully vaccinated travelers – Senate President

Senate President Vicente Sotto III is urging the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) and the Department of Health (DOH) to waive the mandatory quarantine period for fully vaccinated individuals who are looking to enter the Philippines.
In a Viber message to reporters, Sotto said, “Why do fully vaccinated people have to still do the two week quarantine when traveling to the Philippines? It doesn’t make sense!”
The Senate President also noted that requiring fully vaccinated people to undergo the 14-day quarantine period “defeats the purpose” of the inoculation efforts against COVID-19.
“[It] defeats the purpose of vaccinating so we can open the economy. Vaccinated investors won’t come because they have to quarantine or even Filipinos who are vaccinated are having second thoughts,” said Sotto.
