BENGALURU, INDIA — Wipro has named Ujjwal Jyoti as Senior Vice President and Global Capability Centre (GCC) Practice Lead, expanding its dedicated GCC advisory and delivery business.

Jyoti joins from Accenture, where he served as managing director and partner, and previously held a programme director role at Wipro earlier in his career.

Appointment signals Wipro’s growing GCC advisory push

Wipro said Jyoti will lead efforts to help clients design, establish, and scale GCC operations aligned with their digital transformation and technology priorities.

According to a report from APAC News Network, Jyoti’s background spans GCC strategy, technology transformation, and global delivery from roles at Accenture, DXC Technology, and Tech Mahindra before his return to Wipro.

Wipro said Jyoti will also develop the firm’s internal GCC capabilities and organizational capacity to serve enterprise clients as demand for dedicated GCC advisory services grows globally.

“GCCs have become an important part of enterprise strategy, moving beyond traditional delivery models to support innovation, transformation and specialised capabilities,” said Ujjwal Jyoti, senior vice president and global GCC practice lead at Wipro.

GCC demand shifts from cost reduction to strategic capability

Industry observers note that organisations are increasingly treating GCCs as strategic platforms for building capabilities, accelerating transformation, and accessing global talent, rather than as cost-reduction vehicles.

The GCC market in India now encompasses more than 1,580 centres and has crossed $46 billion in market size, with growth increasingly driven by artificial intelligence (AI), product engineering, and digital platform functions.

Wipro moved aggressively in the GCC space in 2026, completing its acquisition of Olam’s Mindsprint business in June as part of a broader push to deepen its GCC advisory and managed services capability.

India’s GCC sector has expanded rapidly as multinationals shift from third-party outsourcing toward owned capability centres that give them direct control over talent, data, and strategic technology functions.

For business process outsourcing (BPO) providers, the GCC shift presents both a competitive pressure and a services opportunity, as companies building in-house centres rely heavily on information technology (IT) services firms for GCC setup, governance, and transformation support.

With Jyoti leading its GCC practice, Wipro is positioned to compete for advisory and managed services mandates that accompany enterprise GCC launches across banking, financial services, technology, and manufacturing sectors.
