Wipro promotes over 30 senior executives

BANGALORE, INDIA — Wipro, India’s leading IT services company, announced the promotion of over 30 senior executives across various departments.
Wipro revealed that six employees have been elevated to the role of Senior Vice President, while 25 others have been promoted to Vice President positions.
Among the notable promotions are Ajit Mahale, Wipro’s Chief Delivery Officer, Anuj Kumar, Healthcare Portfolio Leader, Kim Watson, Canada Country Head, Srinivasaa HG, Europe Cloud Sales Head, Satish Y, Head of FullStride Cloud Services’ Strategy and Execution Unit, and Benjamin Simon, Chief Financial Officer of Wipro’s British consulting arm, Capco.
Additionally, the firm appointed Anne-Marie Rowland as Capco’s Chief Executive Officer. Her appointment comes amid reports that Wipro laid off highly paid mid-level employees at Capco, which remains insufficiently profitable to justify expenses.
The promotions follow Wipro’s previous promotion cycle in January 2023, during which the company elevated 73 employees to SVP (12) and VP (61) roles.
This move aligns with the industry trend, as IT companies are expected to offer average salary increases of 8.4% to 9.0% this year, similar to the 8.5% to 9.1% average increases handed out in 2023.
Wipro enforces non-compete clauses that prevent senior executives from joining 10 major IT competitors for 12 months after leaving the company. The clause explicitly lists Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, DXC Technology, HCLTech, IBM, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, and Tech Mahindra as restricted companies.
The firm’s net profit declined 12% year-over-year in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2024, ending December 31, 2023.
