MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — Australian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) squeezed by rising wages and skills shortages are being offered combined guidance on artificial intelligence (AI) and offshore staffing through a new partnership between outsourcing advisory platform Orbii and small-business platform mySMB.com.
The partnership gives mySMB.com members access to Orbii’s outsourcing education and guidance alongside mySMB.com’s existing AI tools. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Orbii brings offshore advice to mySMB members
According to a media release published by Tech Business News, Orbii founder and chief executive officer Ivan Trajkovski said the companies that thrive will be those that combine local employees, AI and global talent effectively, not necessarily those with the biggest local workforces.
Orbii helps Australian businesses identify what they could outsource, understand different offshore models and find suitable providers, and it operates a register of offshore service providers.
mySMB.com provides SMEs with AI tools, education and business support through its Workspace, AI Studio, myAcademy, Community and Marketplace offerings.
“Everyone is talking about AI replacing jobs but that is only half the story,” Trajkovski said.
Partnership targets the AI, human and offshore mix
The partnership is designed to help businesses decide what work to give to AI, what needs a person and how much should move to offshore outsourcing rather than stay in Australia.
Trajkovski, who has more than 20 years of outsourcing experience, said an Australian business might keep leadership and customer-facing staff at home while engaging talent overseas for administration, finance support, technology or marketing.
The companies are pitching the offer as the cost of wages, office space, superannuation and recruitment weighs on smaller firms.
“Working with Orbii gives the SMB community access to practical, trusted guidance so they can make informed decisions and grow with confidence,” said Max Jones, business development executive at mySMB.com.
The tie-up pushes offshore workforce planning down-market, packaging for small firms the kind of advice that, as Trajkovski put it, large businesses have long been able to access.
For the outsourcing sector, it shows AI and offshore talent being sold together rather than as competing answers to the same cost problem, a pitch that widens the pool of first-time buyers the top BPO companies worldwide can reach.
Orbii and mySMB.com now have a combined channel to test whether Australian SMEs act on that advice at scale.
