HANOI, VIETNAM — Vietnam’s CMC Corporation and South Korea’s LOTTE Innovate have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that pairs CMC’s technology workforce with LOTTE Innovate’s Korean customer base to deliver offshore technology services. The agreement also covers data centers, electric vehicle (EV) charging, cybersecurity and cloud computing.
Vietnamese delivery, Korean clients
The offshore services work will draw on CMC’s pool of skilled technology professionals and international delivery capabilities, alongside LOTTE Innovate’s customer relationships and knowledge of the South Korean market, according to VietNamNet. The two companies aim to provide technology services to clients in South Korea and other international markets.
The signing in Hanoi was attended by Tung Ho Thanh, vice chairman and executive vice president of CMC Corporation and president of CMC Global, and Park Jong Pyo, vice president and head of LOTTE Innovate’s BX Business Division.
“Our partnership with LOTTE Innovate is more than a step in CMC’s global expansion strategy. It reflects the growing role of CMC Korea in connecting Vietnam’s technology capabilities with Korea’s leading corporations,” said Minh Tran Van, CEO of CMC Korea.
“We expect both sides not only to deliver high-quality software development services together, but also to co-create scalable digital solutions across Vietnam, Korea and regional markets,” he added.
Infrastructure alongside services
In data centers, the companies plan to explore joint development that combines CMC’s infrastructure and operations in Vietnam with LOTTE Innovate’s industry experience and customer network. Their cloud work will focus on encouraging wider cloud adoption among Vietnamese businesses.
The partnership will also explore EV charging networks, covering equipment, technology platforms and operational services, and look for opportunities in cybersecurity.
“Vietnam is a key market in LOTTE Innovate’s global strategy,” said Choi Jong Pil, general director of LOTTE Innovate Vietnam.
Two IT services groups
Founded in 1993, CMC is Vietnam’s second-largest technology corporation, with businesses in technology and solutions, global business and telecommunications services. LOTTE Innovate, the IT services arm of LOTTE Group, was established in 1996 as LOTTE Data Communication and renamed in 2024.
The MOU lays the groundwork for joint initiatives in the coming months.
For Korean companies, the tie-up pairs a Korean account relationship with Vietnamese delivery teams for offshore outsourcing of software work. Buyers weighing IT managed services in Vietnam can ask how delivery will be split between the two firms, and compare providers on the top BPO companies worldwide list.
