CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES — The Office Gurus (TOG) has told Select VoiceCom employees that their compensation, bonuses, commissions, 13th-month pay and existing benefits will remain unchanged in the immediate term, after its purchase of the Philippine BPO provider.
Select VoiceCom (SVC) says it has more than 1,000 employees across its Cebu and Davao delivery centers.
A gathering in Cebu, streamed to Davao
TOG, the contact centers segment of Superior Group of Companies, bought SVC in a deal that took effect on Oct. 28, as we reported on Nov. 3. Leaders from both companies gathered with employees on Nov. 3 to celebrate the deal and discuss the transition.
The gathering was held in Cebu, with a livestream so employees in Davao could watch and take part remotely, Select VoiceCom told Outsource Accelerator.
The assurance, in his words
Mark Lyndsell, executive vice president of global operations at The Office Gurus, confirmed that compensation, bonuses, commissions, 13th-month pay and existing benefits would remain unchanged in the immediate term.
Select VoiceCom’s current leadership structure will also remain in place, the company said.
“Nothing changes. You can bank on us to be able to pay your bills, look after yourselves, and look after your families. And that’s our commitment to you,” Lyndsell said in remarks the company provided to Outsource Accelerator.
TOG also plans to introduce learning resources and leadership training programs to support career development and internal advancement.
Questions on job security and benefits
Employees raised questions about job security, healthcare coverage and leave policies. Mitch Korb, vice president of human resources, reaffirmed TOG’s commitment to employee support and said the company would review potential improvements.
No immediate policy or benefit changes were announced. TOG leadership will work with SVC’s local HR, payroll and recruitment teams to support the transition.
Founders mark 18 years
The event also recognized Select VoiceCom‘s 18-year history and the contributions of founders Mark Shapiro and Trevor Michael and chief operating officer Jermaine Arco.
“TOG didn’t acquire SVC because they wanted to change everything we’ve built. They acquired us because they recognized the value of what we’ve built, and especially the people who made it possible,” Shapiro said.
What it means for buyers
For clients of a Philippine provider that changes hands, the people on the account matter as much as the new owner. An acquirer’s early word on pay and leadership is one sign of whether the team serving that account will stay.
