PH Senate to pass 10 eco measures next month

The Philippine Senate plans to pass 10 measures for the strengthening of the Philippine economy in August, according to Majority Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.
During a televised public briefing last Monday, the senator stated that these would include proposed amendments of the Retail Trade Liberalization Act, Foreign Investments Act, and Public Services Act, among others.
“Hopefully by next month of August, matatapos na po natin (we’ll finish these),” Senator Zubiri said.
He also added that the Senate has pledged the approval of the proposed Department of Overseas Filipino Workers to President Rodrigo Duterte. The Philippine senators will hold a session after President Duterte’s last State of the Nation Address next Monday.
