Labor group urges DOLE to investigate ‘no vaccine, no work’ policy

Militant labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) is calling on the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to investigate companies that illegally insist on the “no vaccine, no work” policy for their employees and job seekers.
KMU urged DOLE to take action after receiving complaints through its hotline about firms who were discriminating against unvaccinated workers despite the government’s ban on this mandate.
KMU secretary general Jerome Adonis said in a statement that they “are reminding companies that vaccination is voluntary. It cannot be used to discriminate or remove a worker from work.”
Adonis further added that the government’s slow COVID-19 vaccination drive was the reason behind some unvaccinated workers.
The labor group shared that they would collect all the reports they have received and would file a formal complaint naming the companies to DOLE.
