GAIN, IBPAP sign MOU to push digital competencies

The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and Government Academe Industry Network (GAIN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last November 3 to foster digital competencies in the country.
Under the memorandum, both parties agreed to develop initiatives that will ensure the global competitiveness of Filipinos.
The two organizations will work on promoting awareness in adopting international standards in communications and digital proficiency and support the establishment of specific National Targets for International English Standards using the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
GAIN is a non-profit organization that helps determine and address workforce issues in the country. Through their efforts in promoting the adoption of international standards, Senator Pia Cayetano filed Senate Bill No. 62.
This bill seeks to establish an Education Roadmap that will provide a common national policy on education to enhance global competitiveness. The Senate bill is expected to be a catalyst for the launch of the National Roadmap for Global Competitiveness in Communication Skills (NRGCCS) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The MOU was signed by GAIN and IBPAP representatives last November 3.
