PEZA investments reached P4tn in 26 years

Total Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) investments reached PHP4.02 trillion (US$79 billion) for the past 26 years, according to PEZA Director-General Charito Plaza. These investments came from 4,670 locators in 415 economic zones across the country.
During its Investors Recognition Day 2021, Plaza added that the majority of PEZA locators are export-oriented companies. This means that they have contributed a total of USD916.53 billion worth of exports since 1996.
In terms of employment, Plaza added that they have created over 1.73 million direct jobs and over 8.63 million indirect jobs in the country.
The Director-General stated that they aim to build more economic zones across the country and create new types of ecozones.
PEZA has also recognized various locators for their outstanding performances in terms of exports, community projects, environmental projects, and COVID-19 response during their event.
