Colombia tops Offshore BPO Index for 2nd consecutive year
MONTREAL, CANADA — Colombia recently took the top spot in Offshore BPO Confidence Index 2022 report jointly developed by market insights firm Ryan Strategic Advisory and editorial firm Cognitive Copy.
The Confidence Index surveyed country managers of business process outsourcing (BPO) firms from 17 popular offshore destinations including the Philippines, South Africa, India, and Jamaica.
The respondents included 158 country managers of of 100 BPO firms.
The offshore destinations were ranked based on the local labor market, infrastructure, commercial property, BPO ecosystem, political stability, public security and economic stability.
Colombia, topped the survey mainly because of its government’s “multiple efforts” to enhance the labor force’s skills. The country’s competitive internet stability is also among the strengths that boost investor confidence.
Respondents have also shown confidence in Colombia’s real estate market stating that ease of leasing offices in the country allows big players to build world-class facilities.
The report also noted that the country’s investment promotion agency, ProColombia, gained high praise this year, with respondents highlighting its ability to lobby the government for favorable BPO regulations.
In 2021, Colombia also topped the Offshore BPO Confidence Index.
