Rfxcel acquires outsourcing firm SmartPoint Technologies
BESCIA, ITALY & CHENNAI, INDIA — Pharmaceutical solutions provider rfxcel has acquired Indian software development company SmartPoint Technologies, in a move that allows it to offer more comprehensive solutions to customers.
Paid in cash, the acquisition amounted to €7.8 million (US$8.6 million). Of that amount, €5.4 million (US$5.9 million) was paid at closing, while the remainder within 18 months.
Rfxcel is a pioneer and leader in track and trace solutions for Life Sciences. In 2021, it was acquired by Antares Vision Group for US$120 million.
SmartPoint Technologies is a software development, IT consulting and outsourcing solutions company. With over 12 years of experience in software development and support, the company is an expert in the pharmaceutical Track & Trace sector.
“The integration of our companies’ capabilities will enable us to drive into new markets and geographies as the undisputed leader in supply chain track and trace solutions,” said rfxcel CEO Glenn Abood in 2021, who described the agreement as the start of an expansive era for the company.
“It really is a ‘win-win’ for our global teams and our customers,” he added.
