Accenture completes AOX buyout, expands auto software reach
VILLINGEN-SCHWENNINGEN, GERMANY — Global professional services giant Accenture has completed its acquisition of AOX, a German firm known for developing embedded software crucial for carmakers and their suppliers.
This merger, finalized after an initial announcement in December 2024, aims to enhance Accenture’s capabilities within the automotive sector as it transitions to software-defined vehicles.
Accenture’s acquisition adds over 50 highly skilled professionals from AOX to its Industry X engineering team, improving its expertise in high-performance computing, real-time operating systems, and scalable software architectures.
Christof Horn, who heads Accenture’s Industry X division in Europe, emphasized, “Software expertise is becoming the dominating factor in the auto market, and this is where AOX excels.”
Financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed.

AOX, headquartered in Villingen-Schwenningen with additional sites in Karlsruhe, Rosenheim, and Wetzlar, brings critical software development capabilities to Accenture.
