Accenture to lay off 75 workers in California

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Professional services firm Accenture announced its plans to lay off 75 workers in its office in San Francisco, California.
According to sources, the sacked employees will come from “trust and safety” roles, including analysts, associates, or new associates. The company also plans to let go a handful of its business or operations analysts.
Kate Hogan, a senior executive at Accenture, said that the layoffs is “due to a change in client contract requirements and [is] expected to be permanent.”
While the firm did not reveal the client, reports say that the affected workers are based at a San Jose office building leased to tech giant Google.
Company spokesperson Lara Wozniak added that Accenture continuously collaborates with clients to review its support for their needs and is committed to supporting its people through project transitions.
Hogan also assured the affected employees that they would have the opportunity to find other positions within the companies.
Accenture’s announcement was sent to state and local officials less than two weeks after its plans to cut 19,000 workers worldwide were publicized.
