Air New Zealand mulls moving call center to Philippines
Air New Zealand, the country’s main airline, is reportedly considering moving a call center service to the Philippines from Auckland. An airline spokesman, however, clarified that no Air New Zealand employees would be affected.
The plan is to move its overflow contact center from Concentrix in Auckland to the Philippines, where the outsourcing company has a presence in 15 cities. The spokesman clarified that Air New Zealand would retain its New Zealand-based contact center function. Concentrix did not comment on the plan.
The move is part of the airline’s cost-savings efforts to offset rising jet fuel prices.
