Amplix acquires OneConnect to deepen tech advisory

MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES — Amplix has acquired OneConnect, an independent technology sourcing and procurement firm headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, marking the Norwood, Massachusetts-based advisory company’s 15th acquisition since its platform formation in 2022.
According to a company press release, OneConnect, founded in 2004, helps clients source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships across broad technology provider networks.
Amplix adds vendor sourcing depth to advisory platform
Amplix, a portfolio company of Gemspring Capital, provides technology advisory services covering artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, infrastructure, security, and unified communications to more than 3,500 clients across the United States and Canada.
OneConnect’s independent sourcing model, which helps organizations negotiate and manage vendor contracts across broad provider networks, extends Amplix’s capabilities into procurement lifecycle management.
“John and his team have spent years earning the trust of their clients, and that commitment to client success reflects the same mission Amplix lives every day. Together, we can expand the value OneConnect delivers to every organization they serve, with access to Amplix’s broader platform and emerging AI technologies,” said Dan Gill, CEO at Amplix.
OneConnect clients gain access to Amplix platform
The acquisition follows 14 prior deals completed by Amplix since 2022, reflecting a deliberate growth strategy to expand both geographic reach and service depth across the technology advisory market. OneConnect’s St. Petersburg-based team will continue operating under the OneConnect brand, preserving client relationships while gaining access to Amplix’s broader resources and managed services capabilities.
“We have always believed that the best outcomes come from truly understanding a client’s environment: their operations, their goals, and the decisions that shape their future. Joining Amplix allows us to build on that commitment with greater resources, expanded expertise, and access to a wider range of capabilities to serve the organizations that count on us,” said John Smack, CEO at OneConnect.
Amplix’s acquisition of OneConnect reflects a broader consolidation trend in technology advisory, where mid-market firms build scale through acquisition to compete with larger integrators and managed services providers.
For the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, the deal illustrates how advisory and procurement services are increasingly bundled together as enterprise clients seek unified technology partnerships.
As AI reshapes how organizations source and manage technology contracts, independent procurement specialists with deep vendor assessment capabilities will remain attractive acquisition targets for advisory platforms scaling through consolidation.
