Bacolod City is still among the top “Centers of Excellence” for IT-BPO (Information Technology – Business Process Outsourcing) along with other five key cities, as recognized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) during the virtual launch of Digital Cities on June 30.
The city first achieved the distinction in 2013, and was recognized along with Metro Manila and Metro Clark.
“This is a revalidation of our status as one of the premier investment destinations in the country. In this highly competitive field, it takes a strong combination of available quality human resource and infrastructure to stay on top and we still made it,” said Bacolod City mayor Evelio Leonarda.
Further, the said virtual launch also named the cities of Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Dasmariñas, Dumaguete, Lipa, Naga, and Sta. Rosa as “Next Wave Cities.”
