Border entry now allowed for Cebu City workers

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia now allows Cebu residents who work in essential establishments in Cebu City to go to work and return home, despite the city’s reversion to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) last June 15.
For now, Garcia said that she will allow entry and exit of the employees to and from the province as long as they can present their company identification card and employment certificate.
Cebu City’s border controls, which limited the exemptions of persons that are allowed to cross borders, were instituted due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases on March 30. Employers of business process outsourcing (BPO) companies and other establishments that were allowed to operate were urged to provide accommodation for their workers
