DICT says BPO firms should consider WFH during pandemic

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has urged ICT-enabled business process outsourcing companies to consider work-from-home arrangements as much as possible during the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
The DICT reiterated the operational guideline included in a department circular issued for these companies. Some BPO companies have been allowed to keep a skeletal force in their offices, but most have already adopted the work-from-home scheme.
Employees are also permitted to go to work but appropriate temporary accommodation and service arrangements need to be put in place, the DICT said. In Davao City, over a dozen BPO firms have already temporarily shut down operations due to the pandemic.
