Fusion5 expands e-commerce reach with Optimum.consulting acquisition

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Fusion5, a prominent Trans-Tasman business solutions company, has broadened its footprint in the e-commerce and retail technology sectors with its latest acquisition of Sydney-based Optimum.consulting.
This strategic move, finalized on October 1, 2024, marks Fusion5’s third acquisition this year, following the purchases of New Zealand IT service providers IntegrationWorks and GoCloud.
Enhancing Microsoft capabilities and vertical market focus
Fusion5, known for providing a wide range of digital transformation solutions, applications, and consulting services, serves over 1,200 customers internationally. The company is a recognized partner for major technology providers such as Microsoft, NetSuite, Oracle, ServiceNow, Workday, and IBM.
With the integration of Optimum.consulting, Fusion5 aims to enhance its Microsoft offerings and deepen its expertise in vertical markets like manufacturing, e-commerce, and retail.
Fusion5 CEO Sven Martin explained that acquiring Optimum rounds out the firm’s Microsoft offerings and strengthens its experience in the commerce and retail industry.
“It reinforces that we are a local partner who can scale to take on transformation projects of any size,” he added.
Optimum.consulting: A rising star in Microsoft solutions
Founded in 2022 by Matthew Lingard, Carolyn Eames, and Mary Ann Tann, Optimum.consulting has quickly established itself as a prominent Australian Microsoft partner. Specializing in Dynamics 365 and Power Apps, the company brings significant expertise in retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, and wholesale sectors.
With a workforce of nearly 60 employees, Optimum.consulting’s integration into Fusion5 is expected to create new opportunities for both staff and customers.
“Optimum and Fusion5 are closely aligned in terms of our culture, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for what we do,” said Matthew Lingard, CEO of Optimum.consulting.
“We both believe in delivering meaningful outcomes to our customers using the best possible people and technologies. The benefits to everyone – from our team to our customers – have made the decision to join forces easy.”
Synergies and growth opportunities
The acquisition is expected to create substantial synergies between the two companies. Fusion5’s extensive range of transformation, advisory, integration, and cloud infrastructure services will complement Optimum.consulting’s deep industry knowledge and Microsoft expertise.
This acquisition is part of Fusion5’s broader strategy to become a scaled systems integrator. The company is investing heavily in various areas, including artificial intelligence, data, infrastructure, security, and integration practices.
Impact on the Asia-Pacific technology landscape
While the financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, industry experts anticipate that this merger will significantly impact the Asia-Pacific technology landscape. The combined entity is poised to offer more comprehensive and tailored solutions to businesses undergoing digital transformation, particularly in the retail and e-commerce sectors.
As the dust settles on this acquisition, Fusion5 and Optimum Consulting customers and employees can look forward to expanded opportunities and enhanced service offerings in the rapidly evolving world of business technology solutions.
