Futuristic contact pod offers immersive virtual meeting experience

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — Finnish company Framery recently unveiled its “Contact” pod to combat the challenges of remote work and video conferencing fatigue.
During a tech demo hosted by the Finnish consulate in New York City, participants experienced the Contact pod firsthand and were impressed by its capabilities. The visual and sound quality were exceptional, making it easy to forget that the conversation was happening virtually.
The Contact pod offers an immersive and lifelike virtual meeting experience, simulating face-to-face conversations better than any previous technology. Its spacious interior features a swivel chair and a large vertical screen, providing a realistic representation of the person on the other end of the call.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Framery Marketing Manager Inka Saxholm said that their team is devoted to learning how to make virtual meetings exciting.
“There’s research that goes into this,” she added.
While the Contact pod has garnered praise for its innovative approach to virtual meetings, it also comes with a heavy price tag, expected to be over $26,000. Its current version is limited to individual use and cannot share screens or access other applications.
Despite its limitations, the Contact pod aims to fill a specific niche in the business world, such as facilitating final interviews with job candidates who are unable to travel.
Framery also plans to further showcase and refine the Contact pod through demonstrations in various locations, hoping to revolutionize the future of work and provide a more engaging and immersive video conferencing experience.
