Healthcare Is Fastest Growing BPO Service In Philippines
Healthcare outsourcing has become the fastest growing BPO service in the Philippines, according to the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP). CCAP president Jojo Uligan said this is due to a ready pool of US-registered healthcare professionals and the country’s popularity as a source of nurses in the world. Uligan said this trend could attract Filipino nurses, clinicians and other healthcare workers currently working abroad to return to the country where they would earn a similar salary.
Uligan said the country’s position as a provider of hardworking nurses and medical professionals worldwide makes it a destination of choice for offshore healthcare job requirements. Last year, American clinical process outsourcing (CPO) services provider Shearwater Health opened a facility in Cebu IT Park, offering more than 1,000 job opportunities for nurses, clinicians and medical coders to cater to its growing global clients.
