Luzon-wide quarantine extended until 30 April

The enhanced community quarantine in Luzon will continue until the end of this month, cabinet secretary Karlo Nograles confirmed on Tuesday.
Nograles, who is also the spokesman of the COVID-19 task force, said President Rodrigo Duterte approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force to extend the quarantine until 11:59 p.m. on 30 April.
According to Nograles, the extended lockdown is to ensure that the virus is contained and the country is able to flatten the curve. He also said there is no need at present to extend the lockdown to Visayas and Mindanao, adding that the task force is still monitoring the situation in the regions.
A total of 57 million people are affected by the lockdown in Luzon, where their movement will continue to be severely restricted under the extended quarantine.
