Megaworld Corp. is investing ?2.5 billion to double its office space in Iloilo Business Park by 2020 to meet the increasing demand. The Iloilo Business
Park hosts 15,000 employees from five business process outsourcing companies. Presently, Megaworld has an inventory of 45,000 sqm in its office towers. According to Senior Vice President of Megaworld Jericho Go, the company wants to add two towers called the Festive Walk and Two Techno Place.
Festive Walk is a four-level building with an estimated 12,000 sqm of leasable area. It will generate 4,000 jobs on completion. Two Techno Place is a five-level building with a leasable area around 10,000 sqm. It will add 3,000 jobs once it is completed.The company plans on increasing its overall office space by an additional 55,000 sqm.
A year ago, Megaworld chalked out “Visayas BPO Triangle”, to focus expanding its office space in the Visayas.
Jericho Go stated that the Philippines BPO service industry has a positive outlook despite US President’s protectionist policies. Go also said that there are other business process outsourcing companies that want to set up shop in the Philippines.
