Megaworld urges businesses to locate in Western Visayas

Property developer Megaworld has urged businesses to set up operations in Western Visayas, particularly Iloilo, and provide more jobs to the region’s residents. Harold Brian Geronimo, senior assistant vice president and head of public relations and media affairs at Megaworld, said the region hosts five Megaworld townships, the highest number outside Metro Manila.
These are the Iloilo Business Park and Sta. Barbara Heights in Iloilo; Boracay Newcoast in Aklan; and The Upper East and Northhill Gateway in Negros Occidental. Geronimo said the Iloilo Business Park is currently 40% completed and Megaworld plans to build more office towers in the city, including the International Corporate Plaza (ICP). ICP is a state-of-the-art and green office project for businesses, startups and established firms.
According to Megaworld, ICP is expected to reach PHP2 billion (US$38.5 million) in sales, and provide more jobs in addition to the jobs in the business process outsourcing firms located inside the business park.
