New COVID-19 variants will not affect India’s hiring activity
The majority (73%) of C-suite executives in India believe that the possible emergence of new COVID-19 variants will not impact the country’s hiring activity.
According to a survey by recruitment and HR services company Genius Consultants, most business leaders are confident that a new wave will not halt their operations as new COVID-19 cases continue to decline across the country.
Meanwhile, 27% are unsure about the situation in the future.
Over 69% of respondents added that they are not anticipating a rise in job insecurity if a new variant appears.
When asked about their opinion about a potential new wave, 71% stated that it will not be as serious as before due to Omicron’s low hospitalization rate.
Moreover, about 64% of C-Suite executives feel that companies will encourage “hybrid work models” if there is a new surge in cases, to ensure employee safety and uninterrupted operations.
The survey was done with 1,468 online participants across various sectors — including banking and finance, engineering, education, FMCG, hospitality, HR solutions, IT, ITeS and BPO, logistics, manufacturing, media, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical.
