Online recruitment in PH up 1% in June

Online recruitment in the Philippines rose marginally by one per cent in June compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Monster Employment Index (MEI).
The Index rose to 127 in June 2022 from 125 in June 2021. However, month-on-month, hiring activity dropped by four per cent.
According to the employment website Monster India, the decline in job demand is reflective of the prevailing challenging economic conditions in the country.
Keeping in mind the uncertain economic/political scenario, companies are adopting a cautious approach while hiring which is reflected in the index, it added.
The BFSI (banking, financial services, and insurance) industry led the growth in hiring demands for the month of June by 15%.
On the other hand, the year-on-year growth rate for Logistics, Courier/Freight/Transportation declined dramatically by 32%.
