PEZA launches Economic Zone Institute

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) seeks to help transform Filipino workers into multi-skilled and world-class workers through the launch of its first-ever Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Institute.
In partnership with Mariano Marcos State University, the SEZ Institute will provide skills training and research based on the industries identified in the region. It seeks to further partner with more state universities and colleges (SUCs).
The agreement between PEZA and Mariano Marcos State University is the first step to involve SUCs in attracting investors to the Philippines and addressing some of the efficiency factors investors are looking for, according to PEZA director-general Charito Plaza. The SEZ Institute is located in Batac City, Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
