PH economy showing signs of “positive” growth in Q1 – BSP

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Benjamin Diokno said the Philippines is showing signs it would begin posting “positive” growth in the first three months of 2021.
Diokno said this outlook is based on the results of the central bank’s latest surveys indicating improved optimism of businesses and consumers. The country’s overall business confidence index accelerated to 10.6 per cent in the last three months of 2020 from -5.3 percent in July to September.
Further, Diokno is seeing high gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the second quarter because of base effects.
