Philippines’ First Corporation With Less Than 5 Incorporators

Business process outsourcing company Markable Solutions has become the Philippines’ first regular corporation to have less than five incorporators. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a certificate of incorporation to the BPO firm under the Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines, which allows for the establishment of ordinary corporations by only two incorporators. The SEC said the company was incorporated by US nationals Reshma Sinha Nigam and Anil Kumar Nigam, and Indian national Radhika Melethil Vivekanandan, to provide general BPO services and information products and services.
Company founder and CEO Reshma Nigam said they chose the Philippines as the location to establish their business because English is widely spoken and it has educated, motivated and quality-conscious workers. Nigam also noted that it is easy to set up business in the Philippines, and they were able to complete their certification within a week. Nigam expects the revised law to result in new foreign investments in the country, which will contribute to the economy.
