Phinma adjusts Business School to meet industry’s needs
Philippine-listed conglomerate Phinma Group announced that its school, Southwestern University (SWU), has revamped its Business School to meet the needs of the industry.
Phinma, which has interests in education, steel products, housing, energy, and business process outsourcing sectors, said the fast-changing environment nowadays indicates a need to produce business professionals who can adapt to these changes. SWU Phinma president Chito Salazar said business graduates of today must be different and flexible.
As businesses are disrupted by advances in technology, such as automation and AI, the new generation of young professionals must be well-equipped to meet the changing needs. Stakeholders in the outsourcing sector have long called for academia to redesign curricula to meet the needs of the industry.
