TaskUs sacks 186 employees

TEXAS, UNITED STATES — Outsourcing giant TaskUs will be laying off 186 positions on Friday, February 24, to cope with the “troublesome economy.”
Although the firm itself did not confirm which positions would be dismissed, a LinkedIn post by TaskUs Marketing Research and Sales Team Lead James Pena mentioned that the sales department is included in the list.
Another post from a program manager corroborated the elimination of the sales team, with “top performers and managers” included in the cuts.
TaskUs is the latest company to announce layoffs in 2023.
The outsourcing firm first entered San Antonio, Texas in 2017 with a call center that employs an estimated 500 people. It expanded with a larger company pace in New Braunfels in 2018, leasing 41,000 square feet in the Heritage Plaza Building.
The organization was a San Antonio Business Journal Business of the Year finalist in 2022, with 40,000 employees worldwide.
TaskUs provides digital outsourcing services to help clients bolster, secure, and grow. The firm ranked 17th on the Time Doctor OA500, an index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing firms and a vital tool in assisting the BPO decision-making community.
