TCS, Cisco Team Up To Offer Hybrid Cloud Platforms

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Cisco have partnered to offer a software-defined approach that will aid businesses adopt the cloud via an easy transformation path by integrating the capability of Cisco ACI. The two firms explained that the offering provides maximum security of the private cloud while using Cisco Openstack’s core capabilities. OpenStack is a software that manages large pools of computing, storage and networking resources throughout a data center. According to Satishchandra Doreswamy, vice president and global head of cloud infrastructure practice at TCS, their new offering will allow clients to pursue a holistic cloud strategy that optimizes their technology investments and supports their business needs by allowing solution deployments across any location and on any cloud.
Doreswamy added that TCS’s Enterprise Cloud Platform (ECP), which is located in 13 availability zones across the globe, is central to the strategy, aiding customers in transferring workloads across different cloud environments quickly in a secure and easy-to-manage IT environment. Powered by Cisco’s next-generation software-defined core infrastructure stack, it targets enterprise customers who currently operate in legacy environments. Rajesh Shetty, managing director of Enterprise Sales, India and SAARC at Cisco, said their relationship with TCS allows them to cater to businesses needing a virtualized approach for their growing business needs.
