TCS on track to employ 30,000 new graduates before year end

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the Mumbai-headquartered IT and BPO giant, is on track to hire 30,000 recent graduates before the year end. Expanding upon its thinking, CEO and MD Rajesh Gopinathan said the company was committed to hiring younger applicants and training them up in order to keep costs low.
Meanwhile, Milind Lakkad, the company’s global head of human resources, said that by continuing to invest in its workers and equipping them with the latest technology skills, TCS had become renowned for its ability to attract talent on a global basis. TCS employed 40% of its target of 30,000 recent graduates in the last quarter and has hired an additional 14,097 this quarter. In total, this took the company’s employee headcount to 450,738 as of September 30.
