Acquire to Invest $10 Million in PH

The Australian business process outsourcing firm is committed to investing $10 million in the country, according to CEO Scott Stavretis. It also plans to hire 600 more workers.
It currently operates nine delivery centers in the Philippines, employing some 7,000 workers. Acquire is looking at adding one more, and Acquire BPO is looking at both Manila and other cities like Davao and Cebu.
In addition, it is also in talks with three local BPO units to buy them out. These serve U.S. and Australian customers. When the purchase is completed, the Philippines will account for 95% of Acquire BPO’s revenues.
Stavretis is all praise for the Philippines, saying that its workforce is as skilled as the rest of the world. It has always relied on serving English-speaking customers, and Stavretis wants to take this to the next level.
He foresees the BPO industry in the Philippines being of assistance to customers in Europe, specifically those who don’t speak English.
Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Scandinavian countries are all key high-value world markets and the Philippines could be the country serving their customers.
