BPO firm CrewBloom allows employees to work at home
Two-year-old business process outsourcing (BPO) firm CrewBloom is paying workers more than the average pay in the outsourcing industry while charging clients less. Its strategy to stay competitive is that it allows its workers to work at home. All positions in the company are home-based, according to Kate Ringcodan, the 24-year-old co-founder of the New York-based firm. Ringcodan said the company’s base pay is 50% or higher than the industry average. The savings on office infrastructure allows CrewBloom to also charge clients less. The company currently has a core team of 15, with 30 other employees in different cities in the Philippines reporting to various US clients. Ringcodan said working at home has its benefits. There is no need to commute so it saves time while the employee spends more time with the family. CrewBloom started by operating remotely, using tools and applications to monitor how its employees work.
