Awesome OS bags Davao Inter-BPO League men’s volley ball crown
The two-month 2018 Davao Inter-BPO League (DIBL) ended over the weekend with the team from Awesome OS, formerly Offsourcing Philippines, winning the volleyball crown in the men’s division. Awesome OS dethroned defending champion Alorica. The championship game was held at the Rizal Memorial Colleges Event Center in Davao City. Ibex Global placed third after beating Teleperformance. In the women’s division, Alorica defeated Awesome OS in the finals with a 25-15, 25-19 victory. A total of seven men’s teams and three women’s teams from seven BPO companies participated in the tournament with a P20,000 championship purse, according to DIBL commissioner Mark de Guzman. The teams participating were from defending champion Alorica, Sutherland, Ibex, Teleperformance, Awesome OS, VXI and Flatworld. The volleyball tournament was set up to provide a sporting avenue, promote a healthy lifestyle and foster camaraderie among call center employees in Davao City, according to de Guzman.
