Sitel Philippines wins award for blood donor scheme
Sitel Philippines has been awarded the Apolinario Mabini Award by the Philippines Department of Health and the Philippine Blood Center for its blood donor activities in 2018. This is the second year in a row that it has won the award. According to Rashmi Singh, vice president of operations for Sitel, donating blood is an extension of the company’s core values, which are exemplified in its tagline “Work Together”. The government blood bank of the DOH, along with PBC, collects blood via mobile blood donations from volunteer-donors. These blood donations are checked so they are safe for use in hospitals.
Sitel has been participating in the blood donation drive since 2015. “This is a wonderful way for Sitel to give back to our community,” said Nemabelle Abainza, Sitel human resource manager for Sitel’s shared services. “We have donated over 140 units of blood for the NCR alone, plus more in our regional locations. Sitel employees find it a great privilege to contribute in such a significant way.”
