Over 100,000 workers receive PHP5,000 cash aid from DOLE

Some 102,895 formal sector workers have already received the PHP5,000 (US$12) cash assistance offered by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
According to a report by the DOLE, the department has already released about PHP622 million, as of 4 April, in assistance funds to beneficiaries under the Covid Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD)-Barangay ako Bahay Ko (BKBK) program.
DOLE secretary Silvestre Bello III said they included the formal sector employees since their jobs are still affected due to the enhanced community quarantine. Employers are required to submit establishment reports and their payroll for the processing of one-time cash assistance.
