Accenture buys British data consultancy Redkite

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Outsourcing giant Accenture has acquired British data consultancy firm Redkite in an effort to spur development in its artificial intelligence (AI) systems.
Founded in 2018, Redkite has accumulated expertise in consumer goods and services, retail, and media industries. Redkite has extended its hand to several United Kingdom (UK)-based firms to aid them in launching their respective products and services.
Specifically, Redkite has utilized its AI-powered platforms to help these firms create personalized customer experiences through data-driven decision-making.
Accenture will now have access to Redkite’s suite of capabilities, from data strategy to architecting and implementing modern data platforms. With the acquisition, Redkite’s 230 experts will jump ship to Accenture’s Data & AI department in the UK.
Redkite managing director Jon Tippell believes that the partnership will equip both companies with the necessary tools to meet their clients’ demands.
“We all know the next technology revolution is here, but data readiness is the top challenge for companies as they move forward with AI adoption,” Tippell said. “For companies to embrace the opportunity of data and AI, they need strong digital foundations in the cloud across their business.”
The purchase of Redkite constitutes Accenture’s $3 billion investment plan over three years in Data & AI practice. The outsourcing company aims to double its AI talent to 80,000 workers through hiring, acquisitions, and training.
Accenture topped the Time Doctor OA500, an index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing firms, with $61.6 billion in annual revenues for fiscal year 2022.This year, Accenture has expanded its portfolio through 30 strategic acquisitions, including Bionest in the United States, SKS Group in Germany, Morphus in Ireland, and Nautilus Consulting in the United Kingdom.
